France v Iceland

Euro Qualifications

25 March 2019

Match Analysis

In the upcoming regular match of the second game week of the EC Qualification, the local France national team will play against Iceland national team. A few months ago the teams played their friendly game against each other and it unexpectedly finished with a 2:2 draw. This time French will probably be much more serious about their competitors and they will be playing for the leadership in the Group H of the Euros qualification.

The Blues are predictably on the first place in the table of their group now as they outplayed Moldova with the devastating 4:1 score in the first round. At the moment France seems to have the strongest squad in Europe and that is why they are supposed to go through the qualification without any real problems.

As for Iceland, they also outplayed the outsiders Andorra 2:0 and it let them shared the second and third positions with Turkey. The Vikings used to be the outsiders of the continent now long ago and yet now they are no longer the ones. Iceland makes it to the Euros 2016 and World Cup 2018 and proved to have made some serious improvements in their class and performance.

Anyway, France still has really good chances to win this time as they are obviously much more skilled and they are in wonderful physical and psychological conditions. Despite the fact that Iceland is really solid in defence, they still don’t seem to be able to keep their goal clean in case France try their best.
